I learned about the possibility of having BJA fund virtual training sessions for the youth in our residential centers. We are interested in working with CBO Game Changer. I learned about this opportunity from Sean Sheppard ( Seansheppard@gamechanger1.org ). Once we are approved for this training I will work with Mr. Sheppard to schedule the virtual training.

West Virginia Public Defender Services requested technical assistance to develop a concept of operations (ConOps) document to support the implementation of a statewide integrated data-sharing system across West Virginia. The SEARCH Group, Inc. was selected to fulfill this request and delivered an outline of the ConOps document as well as a summary report in January 2022.

We have committed to fund a portion of this work ourselves, to be carried out by WestEd's Justice and Prevention Research Center. We're seeking additional assistance to round out the workload study, and would be interested in discussing a collaboration between NTTAC, WestEd and Sonoma County Probation to strengthen the project, make it most useful for organizing and prioritizing our work, and hopefully be of use to others struggling with the similar challenges.

The VPD realizes the benefits that can come from a properly trained staff who can incorporate trauma-informed systems methodologies into to their response to calls for service. As such we would ask the NTTAC to assist us in developing a Trauma-Informed Systems curriculum to deliver to our staff. We would hope to make such a curriculum comprehensive enough to attain California POST certification.

This technical assistance will help with the classification and prioritization of high-risk violent offenders. It will allow SCDPPPS to focus its limited resources on those most likely to reoffend, which will increase the safety of domestic violence victims and the community. One objective for this technical assistance is to have a subject matter expert provide assistance with finalizing the DVSA, including determining if the most appropriate metrics are measured and scored appropriately.

We are in need of assistance to plan, implement and evaluate the feasibility of a felony diversion program in Santa Barbara County. This may include assistance with analyzing data, facilitating planning sessions, and attending site visits to other felony diversion programs that are currently operating throughout the country. Our main objectives are for the Center for Court Innovation (CCI) to complete an on-site assessment, conduct resource mapping, and assist with the development of an implementation plan for a felony diversion program in Santa Barbara County.

A TTA request by West Virginia Public Defender Services (hereafter "PDS") to the Bureau of Justice Assistance (as supported by the Center for Court Innovation), focused on information-gathering related to eventual development of a comprehensive criminal justice database, concludes in September 2021. Continuing operations are necessary to further the work of the proposed, collaborative criminal justice database project in West Virginia.

The Office of the Commonwealth Attorney (OCA) requested review and assessment of its pretrial policies, practices, and data to identify strategies for implementing evidence-based and data-driven policies and practices that prioritize fairness, racial equity, and public safety. The pretrial Justice Assitance Institute completed a phase I assessment June- September 2021.
