Our community has various issues with street gangs and motorcycle gangs as well as drug sales and use. We have very little funding available to provide training to educate law enforcement on these topics and many of the usual resources (NCTC, MAGLOCLEN) have reduced their training due to a reduction in funding.

I am a new Chief of Police to this organization. I need assistance with statistically capturing our crime rates, and I also need assistance with planning and implementing a data driven organization. In essence, I need help with finding what our problems are, and then finding the hardware, software, and training so that we can effectively allocate our manpower.

Due to the growth and changing demographics of our municipality - as well as the relatively inexperienced tenure of our supervisors and managers - the Tempe Police Department has recognized a great need to increase the amount of leadership and supervisory training provided to the current and future leaders of our organization.

We are putting together a peer support program for our Officers and we need initial training to get started. Our officers are faced with stressful incidents and we need additional tools and resources to help them deal with problems and return to work. Our new policy incorporates group debriefings and individual counseling with mental health providers. We also have options and resources for religious counseling if the employee wishes. We would like to add the option of peer support, particularly when it involves a critical incident which involves lethal force.
