The NRTAC team provided four onsite training sessions on Firearms Identification and Crime Gun Intelligence Exploitation for the Baltimore (MD) Police Department, with subject matter expert Mark Kraft delivering the content. The training informed attendees about how to identify a firearm for accurate trace results and how crime gun intelligence can be used to investigate and prosecute NIBIN-related cases.

A day and a half site visit to complete the planning phase and set up transition to implementation. Session topics include :Introductions, general overview of the agenda, goals of site visit; Presentation and facilitated discussion on information sharing; Stakeholder engagement/identifying and formalizing roles and responsibilities; facilitated Discussion to answer: What is the interagency workgroup's mission statement? The site visit concluded with a tour of the jail.

One CSG Justice Center staff presented during the 2024 Pennsylvania Rural Housing Conference session Securing Funding for Reentry Housing Programs in Pennsylvania. The session featured SCA PFS FY21 grantee Pennsylvania Department of Corrections.

On May 23, 2024, Center staff Kelly Van Develde in collaboration with researchers John Gallagher, Steven Belenko, Deborah Koetzle, Juliette Mackin, and Kristen DeVall traveled to Anaheim, California, to present at the RISE24 Annual Training Conference. Their presentation titled “Strengthening the Foundation: New Research in the Field” introduced four research studies that are currently in the field examining understudied areas of the treatment court model.

In this webinar, representatives from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs’ Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and The Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center review the BJA FY24 Smart Reentry: Housing Demonstration Program Solicitation application process. The program supports state, local, and Tribal governments to enhance or implement evidence-based programs to improve reentry and reduce recidivism by expanding and/or increasing access to housing for people with criminal justice system involvement.
