Assist the DC MPD enhance operational efficiencies and strategies for civilianizing certain positions within the department. Deliverables include: (1) comprehensive assessment of the current department workflows and activities performed by sworn officers; and (2) strategic plan with recommendations to implement changes based upon assessment findings and successful implementations similar in scope and complexity to MPD.
Our discussion centered around the concern that the Sheriff's Office is not able to consistently provide the amount of deputies needed for courtroom (and courthouse) security based on the expectation of some of the Judges and by direct observance from the supervisory staff of the Sheriff's Office.
