This was a joint site visit to Trillium and Onslow County in Jacksonville, NC. The purpose of the visit is to attend the final workgroup meeting and meet the external technical assistance provider, and hear from the group what the lessons-learned were from the FY17 grant.
This was a joint site visit to Onslow County and Trillium in Jacksonville, NC. The purpose of the visit is to facilitate discussions on the deliverables of the grant, and discussion transition from having two grants to focusing on the Onslow County grant.
Michigan State University, School of Criminal Justice (MSU) received the 2018 award for Category 1 Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) provider. MSU will work with CNA (Category 2) and NCVC (Category 3) throughout the grant period to provide assistance to the national PSN program, BJA, OLP, EOUSA and any other entity requesting assistance implementing PSN strategies.
"CSG Justice Center staff conducted this site visit to provide technical assistance to key stakeholders in Florida with a vested interest in improving employment outcomes for people with criminal histories under the Second Chance Act (SCA) Adult Reentry and Employment Strategic (ARES) Planning Program.
Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan requested information on distance learning and online training opportunities to help expand their knowledge in re-entry and aid their current clients. BJA NTTAC provided the requestor with a list of providers that offer implicit bias training and also referred the requestor to the CSG’s Reentry Resource Center.
CJI staff, along with national victims' advocate Anne Seymore, hosted three Victims' Roundtables, one in Jackson on October 30, one in Nashville on October 31 and one in Knoxville on November 1. During the roundtables, CJI staff presented key data findings from the Data and System Assessment Presentation given earlier in the month and participants discussed gaps in the system. The goal of the roundtables was to receive input from the victims' perspective to help inform the policy development process and achieve buy-in from victims' rights groups.
The Heart of Texas HTTF (based in Waco, McLennan Co., TX) has requested technical assistance and training, during the site visit conducted in April 2019, on the sex trafficking of men and boys. The primary contact for this TA request is Susan Peters, director of the primary VSP.
The City of Harvey, Illinois Police Department requested technical assistance to develop and implement a pre-arrest diversion/deflection program. BJA NTTAC referred this request to TASC, Inc.
