Join us to discuss approaches to overcoming the challenges in aligning agencies and systems responsible for preventing, intervening, and treating these issues to change the trajectories of the lives of drug endangered children. Explore best practices in breaking the multi-generational cycles of misuse and neglect. Examine steps to implement the Drug Endangered Children (DEC) Approach, a comprehensive strategy based on a common vision, collaboration that is on-going between various disciplines and agencies, and on-going changes in practice.

Discuss the value of peer recovery support services (PRSS) to enhance substance use recovery. Explore the history of peer support as an effective intervention for tribal populations. Engage in peer exchange with tribal representatives who have implemented a peer support program, including an opportunity for Q&A. This webinar will review a new valuable resource available to support tribes interested in implementing a PRSS Program, Culturally Responsive Pathways to Peer Programming in Tribal Communities.

11/22- In-person meeting Stephanie Hines (Division Director), Shimike Dodson (Assistant Division Director), and Eric Miner (Research Analyst) from the Judicial Council of Georgia Administrative Office of the Courts to workshop data-story telling tools and the need for them, to discuss the Pilot Phase of Counts implementing Justice Counts with additional metrics. 

Vera hosted a virtual meeting of the D4D advisory board to review the advisory member role and responsibilities, discuss the request for proposal and site selection process, and provide an overview of the project timeline and key activities for stage 1. Advisory board members shared feedback on the proposed activities for stage 1 and offered insights on ways to best engage selected partners during the rapport-building phase.

Upon receiving approval by BJA program officials, IIR staff-initiated planning efforts for a fieldwide webinar slated to occur in the next reporting period, including:
• A virtual forum on January 23, 2025, for all grantee sites focusing on effective crisis management strategies for hate crimes and community emergencies

During this reporting period, IIR collaborated with BJA to identify dates for a webinar in support of the FY2024 cohort: a meet-and-greet session. Program staff provided multiple date and time options to BJA program officials, and the event will be scheduled in early 2025.

A Grant Management Orientation webinar will be held for FY 2024 Shepard/Byrd, Community-based Approaches and Emmett Till award recipients. This mandatory webinar for new grantees provides information on fundamental components of their awards, grant activities, performance metrics, and financial reporting.

During this reporting period, the Hate Crimes TTA Program team continued to identify lessons learned and relevant resources and collected information from the field for dissemination to the program sites during regular project check-in calls, through the issuance of special bulletins, and through invitations to virtual webinars and training opportunities. The Hate Crimes TTA Program disseminated special bulletins regarding the following items:

IIR program staff members continued conducting research and gathering content for inclusion in the Hate Crimes TTA Program newsletter, “Preventing Hate and Keeping You Up to Date.” During this reporting period, four newsletters were disseminated. IIR staff members publish the newsletter—which contains resources including national news and trends, research studies and reports, publications, training opportunities, and other useful tools to help support the efforts of awarded project sites and the broader field—using a LISTSERV tool that provides statistical data for reporting metrics.

90-minute webinar that addressed the impact of tragedy and introduce post-traumatic growth. Webinar also allowed a mental health professional and two police professionals to share the elements and potential benefits of post-traumatic growth and practice strategies and interventions that can support individuals in their journey towards post-traumatic growth.
