Tyrina facilitated the third session of the Community of Practice series with Joseph and Panelists, Bailey Davis and Jacob Revis from UAB This hour session focused on best practices for successful program implementation, overcoming challenges and identifying familiar challenges associated with supervising, training, and retaining peer recovery specialists (PRS), multidisciplinary collaboration, and community buy-in.

Tyrina facilitated the second session of the Community of Practice series with Joseph and Panelists, Darrell Keim and Si'Andra Lewis. This hour session focused on one-to-one support, including recruiting, onboarding, training and supervision for PRS, organizational readiness, and cross-training of other staff within the program.

Tyrina launched and facilitated the first session of the Community of Practice series with Joseph Sanchez. This hour session focused on establishing a foundation for Peers within the workplace, the employment process of hiring a peer recovery specialist (PRS), the role of the PRS, and the scope of work for the PRS.

Tyrina facilitated meeting with internal team to discuss one pager of the BIPOC webinar, discuss flow/ layout of the panel discussion, who the panelists will be, and potential questions to ask panelists. This webinar is BJA's Access and Recovery Peer Recovery Support Services Training and Technical Assistance Center, Altarum, will be hosting a webinar focused on the unique needs and traits of the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities who interact with substance use treatment and recovery systems.
