Connecticut DESPP was awarded a grant to develop an Annual SAK Inventory Policy to ensure timely submission of SAKs for testing, develop potential legislative changes, enhance existing sexual assault response policies, establish mandatory training for law enforcement personnel, and require regular convening of MDT working groups in local jurisdictions. The SAKI TTA PA5 Assessment Team conducted a 2-day in-person site visit to review assessment findings and discuss next steps.

The Hate Crimes TTA team held a kickoff call with the Macomb County Prosector's Office. The purpose of the call was to build rapport with site representatives, learn about Macomb County's Matthew Shepard & James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act project activities, identify any challenges and emerging issues, and begin to scope out the site’s TTA needs.

SAKI Prosecution Working Group was hosted for SAKI Grantees. The discussion served as an opportunity to share information about evidence of 404(b) as it relates to sexual assault and other violent crimes. The TTA event also served as an opportunity to spark conversation amongst attendees about their experiences in this space.
