On October 9, 2024, members of the SLATT team and two SMEs delivered an in-person training presentation titled, “Terrorism, Targeted Violence and Hate Crimes: Current Threats, and their Connection to Suspicious Activity Reporting.” The two-hour presentation consisted of lessons from the PROTECT course curriculum and was hosted by the Amtrak Police Department as a component of their Field Intelligence Officer Conference, in Wilmington, Delaware.

On October 2, 2024, members of the State and Local Anti-Terrorism Training (SLATT) Program team, two SLATT subject-matter experts (SMEs), and local representatives from the Ohio Statewide Terrorism Analysis and Crime Center fusion center and the Ohio Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutors, delivered an in-person training course titled, “SLATT Sovereign Citizen Awareness: An Overview for Law Enforcement.” The eight-hour presentation consisted of lessons from the “Prevent and Respond: Officer Training to Effectively Counter Terrorism” (PROTECT) course curriculum and was hosted by the Ontario Pol

On September 19, 2024, the SLATT team was contacted by the program director of Healing and Responding to Therapy (HARTT), a local nonprofit organization in Jasper, Alabama, which specializes in trauma-informed care, family support, and therapy for individuals and families in need. The director inquired about online training opportunities for HARTT counselors who provide services to youth teens who have made terroristic threats to local schools in the state of Alabama.

The SLATT monthly partner meeting was held on October 15, 2024. SLATT partner meetings are convened to discuss current initiatives and progress toward completing SLATT tasks.

During the month of October 2024, 93 new SLATT user accounts were created. Of the new accounts, 33 were approved as SLATT direct accounts, 40 were created via RISS program credentials, and 20 were created via FBI, Law Enforcement Enterprise Portal, program credentials.

The SLATT team addressed approximately 22 inquiries received from users submitting questions or requests using the “Contact Us” button on the slatt.org website. Inquiries related to SLATT training, resources, webinars, publications, login issues, website access, and general questions.

July to December 2024 Reporting Period

Related to this grant, but reported under another award, is the Intelligence Summit task team effort. Work continued during this reporting period by IIR managing the six concurring CICC task teams, established to address the six focus areas outlined in the 2022 Intelligence Summit—Information Sharing in a Dynamic and Evolving Threat Environment: Post-Event Report. This effort is funded under a separate BJA/DHS award, grant number 2020-D6-BX-K001, and activities are reported there.
