The 9th Annual National SAKI Grantees Meeting will bring together over 200 representatives from federal, state, and local criminal justice agencies to discuss recommended practices to address sexual assault response and reduce violent crime. The meeting will host opportunities for attendees to discuss challenges, promising practices, and next steps.

The SAKI Leadership Academy supports participating law enforcement executives by providing the opportunity to expand and strengthen their knowledge on tools and resources for enhanced leadership, organizational and operational sexual assault response efforts within the framework of violent crime reduction strategies. The workshop will feature a series of interactive sessions, providing an opportunity for participants to share experiences, gain insights, and learn from one another.

The Hate Crimes TTA team held a kickoff call with the Cook County State Attorney's Office (SAO). The purpose of the call was to build rapport with site representatives, learn about Cook County SAO’s Matthew Shepard & James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act project activities, identify any challenges and emerging issues, and begin to scope out the site’s TTA needs.

The Suspect Interviewing training, hosted in Research Triangle Park, NC, will host opportunities for attendees to learn suspect interviewing techniques specific to cold case sexual assaults and violent crimes. It is designed for law enforcement officers and prosecutors who are involved in investigations, interrogations, and interview processes.
