Vera is conducting an assessment of ODOC's use of segregation. This assessment consists of site visits, a policy review, and data analysis. At the end of the assessment phase, Vera will complete a final report with recommendations. For the remaining project period, Vera will provide implementation assistance to ODOC.

Vera is conducting an assessment of Middlesex DOC's use of segregated housing through site visits and analysis of policies and data. Upon completion of the assessment, Vera will present recommendations on how Middlesex DOC can safely reduce its use of segregated housing and help with the implementation of these recommendations.

Project TEAM used funds from our BJA grant to pay for Judges Suzanne Kingsbury and Christine Williams and Jackie Davenport, Court Administrator, to attend and present at the Tribal Law and Policy Institute's Healing to Wellness Court training in September in Albuquerque, NM. the National Criminal Justice Association through Cabell Cropper paid for the Alaska delegation to attend and present at the training.

Center staff provide on-going technical assistance for the Dane County Community Restorative Court, which includes regular phone calls (approximately 1-2 times/month), regular email communication, supplying planning guides and other resources, and connecting local stakeholders to subject matter experts. The goals of the assistance are to: assist the site to engage a project steering committee; develop policies and procedures; implement a risk-needs tool; launch the project; collect and review performance data; and a site visit to a model community court.

The Colson Task Force, established by Congressional mandate, is a nine‐person, bipartisan, blue ribbon panel charged with examining challenges in the federal corrections system and developing practical, data‐driven policy responses. The Task Force heard remarks from Georgia state criminal justice reform leaders. These individuals discussed and highlighted the lessons learned from the state's justice reinvestment initiative and Georgia's adult sentencing and reentry reforms.
