Vera is conducting an assessment of NYC DOC's use of segregation. This assessment consists of site visits, a policy review, and data analysis. Upon completion of the assessment, Vera will present findings and recommendations to the agency and submit a final report. Vera will then assist in the implementatioin of the recommendations.

In Austin, Texas, team members from all 50-states,?comprising lawmakers, juvenile justice officials, and judicial leaders, convened for a two-day event,?"Improving Outcomes for Youth in the Juvenile Justice System: A 50-State Forum," to build on their recent successes and to take aim at their next challenge: lowering rearrest rates and focusing ensuring youth in contact with the juvenile justice system are being positioned for success later in life.

CSG Justice Center Staff visited Los Angeles Believes in Opportunities for Recidivism Reduction (LABOR2) technology career grantee to discuss program implementation, technical assistance needs, and sustainability approaches. CSG Justice Center staff met with grantee to discuss implementation progress and technical assistance needs. During the meeting, staff also discussed a workshop in which the grantee would participate during the SCA National Conference. The workshop, Estrategias de Reingreso en Comunidades Latinas/Reentry Strategies in Latino Communities, centered on the obstacles grantees face when providing services with the unique latino population.
