**California is looking to become an immersion state. The Blue Courage Train the Trainer is foundational to creating the skill set for California to drive Blue Courage throughout it's police academies and agencies for statewide penetration. The purpose is to train leaders in the various California agencies, police and sheriff departments to become self sustaining to facilitate the Blue Courage Course. This course is designed to support steps leading to the immersion of Blue Courage in all Academies and Police Departments in the United States.

During the reporting period, IIR conducted planning, logistical support, and coordination for participants from PSP sites Flint, Little Rock, Milwaukee, and St. Louis and PSP alumni site Wilmington to attend the United States Marshals Service Tactical Training on April 19, 2018, in Chicago, Illinois. Topics addressed at this training included use of ballistic shields, building entry, breaching, and use of force decision making.

During the reporting period, IIR conducted planning, logistical support, and coordination for participants from PSP site Birmingham to attend the United States Marshals Service Tactical Training on April 19, 2018, in Chicago, Illinois. IIR also conducted planning, logistical support, and coordination for PSP sites that attended the training using NTTAC funding. Topics addressed at this training included use of ballistic shields, building entry, breaching, and use of force decision making.

On July 17, 2018, a group of campus safety leaders and subject-matter experts, with support from the National Center for Campus Public Safety (NCCPS), gathered in Charlotte, North Carolina, for a one-day forum. The purpose of the forum was to discuss campus safety’s role and strategies for preventing violence in college and university campus communities. It also provided potential solutions and recommendations for addressing challenges associated with preventing violence. The forum aligns with the NCCPS’s role as a nationwide resource for addressing critical issues in campus safety.

It is essential to campus safety efforts that there be a vehicle for identifying, in concert with campus executives, emerging public safety and emergency management challenges and potential solutions. To this end, the NCCPS facilitates emerging issues forums to convene subject matter experts, practitioners, relevant professional association members, and government agency representatives to devise consensus strategies for successfully addressing identified challenges in specific topic areas.
