The Bay Mills Community is a FY22 CTAS PA 3 Grantee. An initial grantee call occurred August 8, 2023 to meet grantee and offer assistance. It was evident that this is a strong and established program. Wellness Court Specialist Kristina Pacheco will share resources such as the LS/CMI assessment and other training opportunities. Bay Mills plans to attend TLPI's 2023 THWC Enhancement Training. Grantee is interested in collaboration for Michigan Regional Training. Bay Mills will contact TLPI if further assistance is needed.

The SAMHSA Gains Center contacted TLPI for assistance in a request from Lummi Nation. The THWC team requested examples of culturally appropriate case plans to increase participant engagement, examples that other tribes use, what is included, how often should case plan be revisited, how "compliance" and "progress" language out, replace them with better language or other measures of wellness.

The NTCRC operates several email inboxes for staff and designated projects. Staff field inquiries from treatment court practitioners as well as monitoring inbox-specific inquiries regarding the NTCRC, Painting the Current Picture survey, and Drug Court Review journal. Inquiries range from single-response questions to more labor-intensive continuous assistance or researching targeting information. Response times range from minutes to days depending on the level of inquiry.

Quinault Nation recently participated in a Becoming a Trauma Informed Court Learning Collaborative through the SAMHSA/GAINS Center. TLPI recently participated in a presentation on Historical Trauma from the Native American Perspective. The TTA providers for the learning collaborative enlisted TLPI in collaborating in providing technical assistance to the Quinault Indian Nation HTWC.

July 24, 2023 - Wind River Associate Judge Martin Armajo submitted a technical assistance request for revitalization of the THWC. Wellness Court Specialists Kristina Pacheco and Angie Juárez-Monger had an initial meeting with Judge Armajo to discuss the TTA request, identifying a need to review of Policies and Procedure documents. On-site training will be revisited after October 2023. Information and resources were shared. TLPI's Suzanne Garcia, Tribal Legal and Child Welfare Specialist, will be included in future TTA.

FY20 CTAS - Purpose Area 3 grantee Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe submitted a technical assistance request on 6/6/23 requesting assistance in responding to participant behavior (incentives and sanctions). A planning meeting occurred on 7/7/23 with the team and Wellness Courts Specialists Kris Pacheco and Angie Juarez-Monger to discuss the request and needs.
A virtual training was then scheduled for July 26 for their THWC team.

In response to a technical assistance request from the Santa Ana Pueblo Healing to Wellness Court Coordinator, Rosemary Manrique, the TLPI HTWC team helped establish and facilitate the New Mexico Healing to Wellness Court Association.
