SCORE - South Correctional Entity Peer Site Visit: November 16-17, 2022. Makah Tribe (WA) in person site visit to South Correctional Entity (SCORE) Jail.
Reached out to site with 2022 annual report template, indicated interest in meeting with them in the New Year, and notified them of the OFR Forum in January.
Met with site as a general check in. Site provided updates on their tasks. 1) They have bought their computers to meet the needs of their new LIMS. 2) Hired a new lab member. 3) Met with Howard University to work on data sharing and presentation to students. Will be meeting with them again at the end of Q1. 4) As they are no longer working towards a LSS system (too difficult to fund/implement), the site is looking for options to spend down funds.
Met with site 8/18 to discuss general site updates. Meeting with the site as their new site liaison. The last call with the site was in the early part of 2022 which made this call extremely fruitful in understanding where the site is at with their 2 grants (with a 3rd grant underway for 2022). Most support for the site included a discussion on getting subgrantee involvement - DA's are the main POC which helps with prosecuting cases but they can be difficult to keep up with communication. FY19 grant was submitted for a NCE until Sept 2023.
