The Little Rock, Arkansas Police Department (PD), as part of the Little Rock Violence Reduction Network (VRN), requested technical assistance in Project Safe Neighborhoods and Drug Market Intervention. Michigan State University (MSU) School of Criminal Justice was selected to provide the assistance, and conducted a two-day site visit to administer and assessment pool and provide assistance on partnerships, collaboration, and implementation of evidence-based practices. The final report was delivered to Little Rock VRN in November 2016.
The Little Rock (AR) VRN site has requested training in Project Safe Neighborhoods and Drug Market Intervention. The training is tentatively scheduled for early August.

The Training Team provided pre-training materials and resources to the site. Many conversations and emails were exchanged with the the site, BJA, and VRN representatives prior to the training. The participants completed the MSU VRAT assessment prior to the training. The training was held on October 12-13, 2016 at the LRPD training academy. The VRAT results and feedback were shared with the site in the post training summary. The site report was given to BJA/NTTAC prior to the funding deadline. A follow-up phone call with the team, site, BJA, and VRN representatives occurred in November to ensure the site understood the Teams suggestions and recommendations as well as to re-emphasize the availability of ongoing TA.
