The IJIS Institute received a request for TA through the BJA/IJIS Institute TA grant program from the Maryland Office of Problem Solving Courts (OPSC) and the Institute for Governmental Service and Research, and upon internal approval to proceed with the TA engagement, the IJIS Institute staff worked directly with client staff to define the specifics of the engagement.
As informed by initial discussions, the principal goals and key considerations of this TA engagement were to:
• Provide recommendations regarding how OPSC can more effectively share with partners.
• Provide short-term and long-term baseline information-sharing strategy.
• Review existing governance structure and processes that can be leveraged.
• Identify how problem-solving court participating agencies move forward strategically to succeed in building, revising, and reusing automated electronic methods to share lab testing, case management, and other information with the courts and partner agencies.
• Provide short-term and long-term baseline information-sharing strategy.
• Identify easy wins to begin sharing.
• Determine a longer term strategic approach.
