In October, CSG Justice Center staff submitted a memorandum to justice reinvestment Phase II funders documenting the progress Pennsylvania made through justice reinvestment implementation and technical assistance. With the submission of the memorandum, intensive technical assistance to support the implementation of Pennsylvania's 2012 justice reinvestment legislation has concluded. State leaders received this month a letter from BJA acknowledging the state's achievements and conclusion of Phase II TA.
The Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole (PBPP) has completed spend-down of the agency's subaward. Activities completed under PBPP's subaward are documented in the wrap up memo. Significantly, subaward funds supported a statewide rollout of Effective Practices in Community Supervision (EPICS) for all parole officers.
CSG Justice Center staff learned this month that PCCD continued to encounter significant hurdles to successful completion of a subaward project funding data collection in local probation offices to capture information about probation re-dispositions. The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) was granted a no cost extension to continue spend-down through March 2016.
