The focus of the committee is to implement a federated query application for authorized users to access a number of county justice information sources. JULY-DECEMBER 2015 PROGRESS UPDATE: SEARCH received a request from the Larimer County Criminal Justice Services Division, on behalf of the Larimer County Justice Data Sharing Committee, to assist with planning efforts to implement new information sharing capabilities among county and municipal justice stakeholders. The focus of the committee is to implement a federated query application for authorized users to access a number of county justice information sources. On October 27-30, 2015 SEARCH staff conducted a site visit with the following objectives: • Assess the functionality and information sharing capabilities of the applications and systems that will be included in the information sharing initiative. • Identify and document business requirements to share information between the criminal justice and public safety systems to assess what data will be shared and what access controls are needed. • Determine opportunities for implementing other information sharing and data interoperability initiatives. • Provide guidance for establishing effective multi-agency information sharing governance based on national best practices. Staff authored a site visit report that outlined observations and recommendations to improve information sharing, provided requirements gathered during the site visit and outlined next steps to initiating the federated query portal project.

SEARCH staff traveled to Fort Collins, CO to meet with the Larimer County stakeholders. Staff facilitated governance and decision-making discussions, conducted readiness assessments for the systems that will share information, and began collecting requirements needed to build the BPDD, SSPs and IEPDs for the Larimer County Portal project.

Staff continued to work with Larimer County stakeholders on recommendations from the reporting including architecture design considerations and service specification development.
