On February 20, 2025, a member of the State and Local Anti-Terrorism Training (SLATT) Program team and a subject-matter expert delivered two in-person trainings to attendees at the Wisconsin Active-Threat Integrated Response (ATIR) Conference on February 19–21, 2025, in Baraboo, Wisconsin. The conference convened attendees representing law enforcement, dispatch, fire, emergency management, medical providers, school officials, private corporate security, attorneys, and other professionals responsible for participating in active threat response. The 90-minute presentations consisted of a SLATT Program overview followed by the “Prevent and Respond: Officer Training to Effectively Counter Terrorism” (PROTECT) training lesson titled, “SLATT Integrated Response: A Case Study of the Laguna Woods Mass Shooting.” At the conclusion of the event, participants were provided with SLATT Program resources and QR codes to download presentation resources and to provide evaluative feedback. Approximately 200 personnel attended the first training delivery, and approximately 80 attended the second delivery. Of the five attendees who provided feedback, 100 percent agreed or strongly agreed that the instructors were knowledgeable and effective, and that the information was useful and that their knowledge increased. In addition, 80% indicated that the course was relevant to their job, that they would apply the lessons learned, that they were satisfied with the course, and that they would recommend it to others.
