Through the National Justice Information Sharing (JIS) Initiative solicitation, BJA seeks to enable the nation's criminal justice community to improve information sharing through advanced technology and tools that increase efficiency, enhance operations, and promote cost savings and reuse. The National JIS Initiative works collaboratively with key stakeholders and national partner organizations to identify critical issues and problems, and provide resources in response to emerging challenges in law enforcement, courts, corrections, reentry, human/social services, and tribal justice. The National Center for State Courts will use the grant funds, awarded under Category 3: Enhancing Justice Information Sharing Through Support of BJA's Services Task Team and Registry, to manage the efforts of BJA's Services Task Team (STT). The SST will be guided by DOJ's Global Justice Information Sharing Initiative. The goal of the national Center for State Courts project is to continue Phase III work supporting the STT project by creating three additional Global Reference Architecture service specifications using the proven Global/STT methodology and maintain the GRA Service Registry.
