"The New Jersey Prescription Monitoring Program (NJPMP) is one of the most important components of the State’s efforts to halt the abuse, misuse, and diversion of prescription drugs. As the state’s quintessential prescription record resource, the NJPMP provides foundational support to many statewide collaborative programs. The NJPMP is located within the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs in the Department of Law & Public Safety, which is overseen by the Office of the Attorney General. The Division of Consumer Affairs, which is responsible for protecting the public from fraud, deceit, and professional misconduct, is able to utilize the NJPMP to assist with education, advocacy, regulation, and enforcement.
With SAS software, the NJPMP has been able to harness the power of data analytics through the creation of custom, automated, multidimensional, interactive, and robust analytic reports and dashboards. These analytic tools were all designed with the primary goal of supporting data-to-action initiatives including: enabling data-driven policy and collaboration; assisting in the development of State-specific targeted interventions; and strengthening drug-related investigations with evidence-based intelligence. The SAS-powered collection of complementary reports and dashboards are capable of identifying key individuals and behaviors potentially contributing to the State’s drug overdose epidemic.
This webinar will provide an expanded and more complete overview of New Jersey’s data analytics programs as presented during the PDMP TTAC PDMP Administrators’ National Meeting in San Antonio, TX."
