UNCW’s proposal is in response to the Category 2b: National Treatment Court Resource Center, (NTCRC) solicitation. The overall mission of the NTCRC at UNCW is to equip treatment court practitioners, in all 54 states/territories, with an array of resources relevant to the field. To fulfill this mission, over the past 4 years, UNCW has established a history partnering with all members of the TTA Collaborative (TTAC), members of the NTCRC advisory board, experts in the field of all treatment court types, and the Council of State Treatment Court Coordinators (CSTCC). The NTCRC and partners will continue to provide stakeholders with the information, resources, and data necessary to develop and implement programs that align with identified standards, adopt evidence-based practices that guide program operations, meet the needs of their target populations, and ensure program effectiveness and long-term participant success (anticipated outcomes).

To support treatment court practitioners and members of the TTAC, the NTCRC will undertake the following activities to achieve the aforementioned outcomes: manage the NTCRC website (508-compliant); maintain a national treatment court database; enhance our interactive online map of programs by court type and location (state/county); develop and disseminate original resources for treatment court practitioners, including original monographs/briefs, bi-monthly newsletter, bi-monthly Beyond the Field blog, factsheets, etc.; produce innovative digital products created via integration with data from multiple sources; curate a collection of operational program documents and information on topics related to the treatment court field; produce Justice to Healing podcast episodes and interactive webinars with experts on emerging topics in the field; develop, analyze, publish, and disseminate the results of the Painting the Current Picturesurvey; manage and publish the Drug Court Review; develop a marketing plan for and coordinate the ATC Discretionary Grant Program solicitation webinar; coordinate regional grant meetings; support and present at trainings/conferences; and convene practitioner learning communities.

The NTCRC at UNCW has a history of facilitating educational and professional development opportunities for treatment court practitioners as demonstrated by the success of numerous training and technical assistance conducted over the past 4 years in the areas of grant writing, data collection/analysis/visualization, and program evaluation. NTCRC staff have established uniform protocols for evaluating their activities/projects. Moreover, they gather data on the emerging trends in the field and disseminate this information using multiple mediums. The NTCRC has the capacity to tailor assistance to various target audiences and skill/knowledge levels while maintaining a focus on translating research into practice.
