This project is to modify or revise the NENA/APCO IEPD created under ATS Project 1936 (closed) as the new APCO/NENA working group surfaces issues through the American National Standard review process. The National Emergency Number Association (NENA) and the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) worked together to create a standard Emergency Incident Data Document (EIDD) to support implementation of Next Generation 911 (NG9-1-1). The EIDD standardizes call-for-service and incident information that is commonly shared among agencies involved in an incident. Following completion of the IEPD, APCO is shepherding the IEPD through the American National Standard (ANS) process to formally bless the EIDD IEPD as the official standard for incident information between public safety communication centers. JULY-DECEMBER 2015 PROGRESS UPDATE: Staff finalized changes to the schema, created a sample file with all fields, cleaned up the repository, and packaged the entire IEPD for delivery. SEARCH staff delivered and package was accepted by the working group. SEARCH participated with the APCO/NENA Emergency Information Data Document working group as the final revisions to the IEPD documentation are being prepared. These revisions were predominantly references to external APCO/NENA standards. The IEPD is scheduled for submission to the APCO Review Committee in Spring, 2016.

JAN-JUNE 2015 PROGRESS UPDATE: During this reporting period, SEARCH staff continued to support the NENA/APCO Working Group in its efforts to revise a standard Emergency Incident Data Document (EIDD) IEPD as it shepherds it through the American National Standard (ANS) review process. The Working Group is continuing weekly meetings to review the content of the candidate message and associated business rules. The EIDD will enable public safety agencies to exchange emergency incident information with other agencies and regions that implement NG9-1-1 and IP-based emergency communications systems as well as information from NG9-1-1 to FirstNet.
