During the January check-in call for Missouri, the site asked the SL for resources regarding how to engage law enforcement and get their buy in for the statewide initiative. SL provided them with resources from the SAKI TTA website, and also connected them with other state sites that have had similar issues and worked to overcome them.
The Missouri site had no TTA needs at this time. However, they informed the SL that a barrier for ViCAP entry for them has been the manpower available to enter kits into ViCAP. They hope with the approval of criminal analyst by budget adjust and extension for one year as requested, this issue will be resolved.
Site inquired whether SAKI TTA had any research or material on rate/percentage of CODIS hits that lead to prosecution. We responded that we did not, however we could discuss ways to collaborate on this research topic in the future.
During this check in the site coordinator let the SL know that they had entered 30 cases into ViCAP and were making progress on their partially tested SAK inventory.
