Also discussed a document developed by Washington to provide guidelines for forensic genealogy testing and whether BJA needs to review and approve of products developed by the SAFE Advisory Group which is the statewide Task Force to address unsubmitted SAKs.
Recommended reaching out to BJA to ask protocols and processes developed by other advisory groups and the definition of tested SAKs in order to proceed with forensic genealogy testing.

Reached out to Pattie Melton and Crystal Daye to clarify whether WA needed to submit a certification for the census of lawfully owed DNA. Pattie suggested they just write up a brief justification, which states an overview of how they conducted their census and the number of identified lawfully owed samples since there is not a formal certification form at this time.
