This meeting will help guide Phase 1 of this project.
• At the initiation of the grant, the American Correctional Association will meet with the designated Wellness Advisory Committee comprised of program partners and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (see Appendix B). This meeting will take place in February 2020 and will focus on the development of the scan tool and data collection metrics.
• Within the first two quarters of year one, ACA and UC Berkeley in collaboration with the Wellness Advisory Committee will develop the scan tool and outline outcome measures and data analysis collection.
• The project team will then conduct a national scan of state correctional agencies, adult local detention facilities, sheriff offices, and community corrections programs to gather information about the curriculum of academy and in-service trainings focused on wellness, stress, and trauma; and to document the presence, type, and quality of wellness programs available to corrections employees.

This TTA will guide the development of the national scan for wellness program resources. It will also identify desired metrics to evaluate programs and help guide onsite visits to exemplary sites for the discovery period.
