Training - VALOR’s “Mid-Level Leadership Workshop: Fostering an Organizational Culture of Safety and Wellness”
VALOR Officer Safety and Wellness Program is hosting the “Mid-Level Leadership Workshop: Fostering an Organizational Culture of Safety and Wellness,” which is open to currently sworn law enforcement officers. Attendees will receive a VALOR training certificate and are eligible to receive continuing education credit.

This meeting will help guide Phase 1 of this project.
• At the initiation of the grant, the American Correctional Association will meet with the designated Wellness Advisory Committee comprised of program partners and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (see Appendix B). This meeting will take place in February 2020 and will focus on the development of the scan tool and data collection metrics.

However, the nature of their work puts them in constant risk – physically, mentally, and emotionally. Compounding an already stressful job, first responders face the front lines of the opioid crisis and are being profoundly affected by it.

Tampa, Florida Police Department (TPD) was chosen to serve as one of three pilot law enforcement agencies to obtain customized officer safety and wellness technical assistance under BJA's VALOR Initiative. The National Police Foundation (NPF) team will provide intensive technical assistance during all phases of planning, implementation, and evaluation.
