NACDL and its partners provide ongoing technical assistance to past attendees of Bring-Your-Own-Case (BYOC) training programs. This ongoing technical assistance is vitally important to ensure that the lessons learned during the BYOC programs are not lost, and instead can be retained and taught to other colleagues.

All attendees of any BYOC training program are invited to receive technical assistance. This happened initially during the completion of the November 2019 program.
NACDL and its partners began recruiting additional teams to participate in remote BYOC training programs and receive continuing technical assistance. Ideal TTA recipients are teams and offices with a high capital caseload and minimal access to training resources. Additionally, with the switch to remote BYOC training programs, NACDL and its partners have begun recruiting teams who have not previously been able to attend CCLI BYOC programs, usually because they are in states with smaller populations, fewer capital cases, or that are geographically isolated such that travel to BYOC programs was previously cost-prohibitive (e.g., the Dakotas and states in the Mountain West).
The penultimate part of the recruitment process for teams to receive TTA is conducting an intake interview with the teams. This interview includes discussion with the teams about the case that they will be "bring[ing]" to the BYOC training program, the status of that case or cases, the specific issues with which the teams are struggling, training topics that the teams need, assessing the current dynamics of how the team members work together, etc.
