TA Description: The Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) Initiative (NSI) is a joint collaborative effort by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and fusion centers, as well as state, local, tribal, and territorial law enforcement partners, which has established a standardized process for identifying and reporting suspicious activity in jurisdictions across the country. Recognizing and reporting suspicious activity is critical to the prevention of violence targeting educational facilities and institutions. This webinar will inform education participants on the following:
• The suspicious indicators and behaviors that should be reported.
• How and where to make suspicious activity reports.
• The law enforcement procedures that will be followed once a suspicious activity report is generated.
• Privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties protections established in the NSI.
This beginner’s-level presentation is appropriate for all categories of audiences engaged in education.
