NW3C will send presenters to teach the Virtual Currency Investigations: Fear Not The Blockchains.
Blockchain technology is not only a disruptive new payment rail, but is also the next phase in the evolution of the Internet. This new technology presents unique investigative challenges for law enforcement and regulatory agencies of all sizes. This fast-paced session assumes that attendees have no prior knowledge of blockchain technology, but seek to gain a foundational understanding of it. This first part of the session will share key blockchain concepts such as distributed ledgers, mining, distributed applications (DAPPS), wallets, digital currency exchanges, smart contracts, privacy coins, and much more. The second portion will provide attendees with a comprehensive overview of the tools and techniques used by law enforcement and financial institutions to investigate cryptocurrency transactions for investigative and regulatory compliance purposes.
