Cesar reached out to begin discussions on a training to be held Winter 2018/Spring 2019. MC would like to use SAKI funding to pay for non-SAKI TTA partners to come and speak at a 2-day conference event (Anna Salter and Kim Rossmo. Cesar is going to reach out to Dawn to get information on approval from BJA for these speakers, and then Julia let Cesar know that RTI can help MC submit conference approval for the event.

Julia recommended MC reach out to BJA to get permission to use non-SAKI speakers. Cesar to send an email to Dawn and Angela
email sent from MC to BJA (Dawn) with explanation of proposed training event.
BJA confirmed via phone, and email, that the MC proposed presenters are approved. Cesar and Dawn to connect this week to discuss the proposed registration conference fee.
Dawn, Julia, Cesar, and Gretchen discussed the registration fee rules for the proposed training.
Determined that MC doesn't need to submit conference approval, as they are going to use 2017 SAKI Funds for the training. However, they do need justification to pay each presenter $3,000 (more than the $650 maximum daily rate allotted by BJA). Dawn is in progress confirming how to proceed now.
cesar submitted presenter justification costs to BJA. Under BJA review currently.
We determined that Maricopa does not need to submit for conference approval, because they are using FY17 grant funds for this training. They are waiting on the final approval of their speakers' rates from Dawn.
Cesar submitted speaker costs and cost breakdown as a GAN. BJA to review.
Dawn, Julia, and MC team discussed options. Dawn suggested providing justification for their speaker choice, given the amount of $ per day. Dawn also suggested submitting for some SAKI funding, and using their own funding for what's still needed (MCAO funding). MC is discussing internally.
Maricopa County to use partial SAKI funding for their training, and partial supplemental (MC) funding for the training with non-SAKI speakers.
