CSG JC staff conducted a workshop with BJA titled "Using WIOA Title II Funds to Support the Integrated Education Model in Correctional Facilities".
CSG JC staff participated in the Senate CTE Caucus briefing, Supporting Successful Reentry through CTE.
CSG Justice Center staff provided the group with an update on Second Chance and the work of the NRRC.
The working group convened researchers, practitioners, and philanthropists to identify the long-term effects of incarceration and how to make improvements to the current system; ways to increase employment for returned citizens; and nontraditional approaches to reentry. It will include three sessions with researchers to identify areas where the data surrounding reentry can be improved to better track outcomes and to discuss the state of play in reentry research today: what we know, what we do not know, and the role research should play moving forward.
As part of its contract with the Justice Center, ACCE formed the Smart Justice Taskforce to advise on contract deliverables. The Task Force held its first meeting by video conference on July 26, 2017 and was an opportunity for task force members to meet each other and hear more about the purpose of this contract. Task force members include chambers of commerce, business leaders, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders.
CSG Justice Center staff met with key Delaware stakeholders to discuss ongoing implementation.
CSG Justice Center staff visited NM as part of Improving Outcomes for Youth Initiative to meet with additional stakeholders and to learn more about NM juvenile justice challenges.

During the MSU Researcher-Practitioner Fellows Academy in Lansing, MI, CSG Justice Center staff met with Muscogee Creek team including Kasidee Webb, Sprint Williams, and Randolph Hubach. Discussions included the target population and how to achieve the numbers proposed. Hubach feels they will need to expand to more than the 4 jails suggested. We talked about getting representatives from those jails involved in the Task Force, to help with any access, data, and communication challenges.
