Frank Smith contacted CSG Justice Center staff because he was interested in expanding a formerly incarcerated work program from Barnhart?to 12 businesses in Memphis. ?The program would include a coach at each company and would be funded by the businesses. ?They discussed how to structure the program, career paths for workers, and training for staff. ?
CSG JC staff participated in a panel titled "Removing Barriers to Employment?.
CSG Justice Center staff visited NM?as part of Improving Outcomes for Youth Initiative to discuss potential policy recommendations?and?meet with additional stakeholders and to learn more about NM juvenile justice opportunities and?challenges.?
The project manager was in DC for another meeting, so we met at a coffee shop for in-person TA. ?The TA provider and grantee discussed effective ways to manage up in the facility to meet the goals of the program. ?Also discussed ways that she might structure her days, such as time outside the facility in order to build relationships with community partners and employers.
