The meeting strives to reduce overdose deaths, reduce recidivism, & increase engagement in evidence-based OUD treatment by developing a continuum of care for individuals in jail & in the community post-release. Implementing MAT in jails and enhancing collaboration between jails and community providers are required to change the course of the opioid epidemic, but these are not easy tasks for local jurisdictions. The purpose of the project is to help communities take advantage of this opportunity to treat some of their most vulnerable residents with OUDs.

The purpose of this onsite filming is to capture audio and video content that can be used to produce video models that highlight efforts, especially those supported by COAP funding. The format is intended to provide viewers a “virtual tour” of the county’s activities, and the goal is to not only create awareness, but also enhance learners’ ability to create something similar or generate ideas/customized solutions for their own communities through instruction, reflection, and provided links to additional resources.
