Kreiner presented, “Ensuring Appropriate Prescribing using PDMP data to Identify and Address Problematic Prescribing: Epidemiological Findings from the Prescription Behavior Surveillance System” presentation at the PDMP Research Forum in Washington, D.C.

Kreiner developed and presented at the National Rx Drug Summit in Atlanta, GA the presentation titled, “Ensuring Appropriate Prescribing using PDMP data to Identify and Address Problematic Prescribing: Epidemiological Findings from the Prescription Behavior Surveillance System.”

Kreiner prepared an invited presentation on PBSS and PDMPs as a surveillance tool for a SAMHSA Institute on Prevention panel on Strategies to Address Opioid Drug Abuse, as part of SAMHSA’s Prevention Day, leading into CADCA’s Leadership Forum. However, Dr. Kreiner was sick and unable to attend. Jinhee Lee of SAMHSA graciously presented his slides in his place (Dr. Kreiner provided her with extensive notes for the presentation).

Kreiner presentation on using PDMP data for public health surveillance and evaluation, using examples from PBSS, at the SAMHSA PDMP Electronic Health Record Interoperability grantee meeting.

Engaged at least 10 states in the PBSS project by finalizing a data use agreement with the PDMP and obtaining requested data. From date received first PBSS funding award to received data from 10th state engaged (KY).

On January 12 - 14, Peter Kreiner and John Eadie traveled to Sacramento, CA, at the request of the CA PDMP Administrator, Mike Small, to meet with Mike and PDMP staff, researchers from UC Davis, and representatives of the CA Department of Public Health and the CA Healthcare Foundation (CHCF), to discuss and plan for CHCF's production of opioid heat maps" for public consumption. Our role was to discuss our use of CURES (PDMP) data to produce measures for these maps. In subsequent email exchanges, we considered the utility of a number of PBSS measures for these maps.

Conducted regular PBSS Oversight Committee meetings, including participants from CDC, FDA, BJA, SAMHSA, the PDMP participating states and the PDMP Training and Technical Assistance Center.

This short series of webinars was designed to train our consultants, who would go on to provide assistance to BJA grantees.
