Regular engagement with Massachusetts Administrative Office of the Trial Court to schedule quarterly calls and check-in throughout the reporting period. Housing component of grant is wrapping up. Site working on sustainability planning with grant conclusion on 9/30/24.

One-day in-person training utilizing jurisdiction-specific sessions for veterans treatment courts within the region.

Two-day intensive in-person training for veterans treatment courts that have been in operation for two or more years.

Two-day, in-person mentor professional development training featuring seven training sessions, with topics focusing on the mentor program and its volunteers in veterans treatment courts. All sessions will include a 45-minute to one-hour-long presentation followed by 15 minutes of Q&A.

Held on August 23, 2024 in collaboration with our training and technical assistance partners – the National Judicial College (NJC). The Violence Against Women Act requires states, tribes and territories to provide full faith and credit for each other’s protection orders on domestic violence and child welfare. Such orders may relate to criminal cases connected to the Tribe or its members. States and tribes have pursued a variety of paths to ensure full faith and credit enforcement. Some states have enacted statutes explicitly recognizing tribal judge protection orders.

Held on September 25, 2024 in collaboration with our training and technical assistance partners – the UND School of Law – Tribal Judicial Institute (TJI). This webinar was designed to assist Tribal court and justice system planners to better understand the following:

On July 23, 2024, a TTA Needs Assessment meeting conducted via zoom with Grantee Menominee for TTA Needs Assessment review. Included in the meeting was Project partner, TJI, and from Menominee PD Office, Martina Gauthier, and Mary James. The Team reviewed all of the answers on the call to complete the TTA Needs Assessment and asked clarifying questions to get more information on specific needs, training, resources that would be helpful, current status of project goals, and planning. Team will get together to come up with a work plan and/or have an additional meeting to follow-up.

Provide ongoing assistance and support to grantees under the Upholding the Rule of Law & Preventing Wrongful Convictions program (both FY21 and FY22 grantees) through direct consultations and feedback, as well as connecting grantees to each other for more general and global assistance.
