The NRTAC staff was invited by IACP to participate virtually and in-person for the 2021 Annual Conference held in New Orleans, Louisiana. Unfortunately, the in-person conference was canceled due to Hurricane Ida, but the NRTAC panel recorded its presentation for the field via Zoom. The NRTAC panel consisted of three subject matter experts who presented on strategic and innovative community engagement and prevention efforts implemented as part of effective gun violence reduction strategies.

The NRTAC staff hosted the fourth Investigations Roundtable to provide CGIC sites with the opportunity to network and engage in peer-to-peer learning. The Roundtable included presentations from various CGIC sites and NRTAC staff on the importance of using patrol engagement as a tool to positively affect investigations and improve clearance rates.

Baltimore site practitioners want to ensure they can contniue to implement their BCJI project once the grant funds run out. They asked IACP if they could send over additional funding sources to help with project sustainability.

IACP staff reviewed the site's draft of its Action Plan and provided suggestions on how to enhance content. The draft was sent back to the Baltimore site on 10/6 for site practitioners to review.
