The National Law Enforcement Roadway Safety Program (NLERSP) will deliver a 4-hour, in-person training at the Alexandria (VA) Police Department to educate executive and mid-level law enforcement officers from the Washington, DC, Metropolitan Area about policies, tactics, training strategies, and technological innovations that can improve the safety of their officers by reducing the risk of officer-involved collisions and struck-by incidents on the roadways.

The Law Enforcement/First Responder Diversion and Referral Mentoring Initiative provides communities interested in starting diversion and/or referral programs the opportunity to learn from established or innovative programs that have shown success in meeting the treatment needs of individuals with a substance use disorder, and in some cases an overdose. There are seven sites that have been chosen to act as mentors for newer programs that are trying to establish a first responder diversion program.

To support Oklahoma with the development of their victim notification protocols, I plan to provide: 1) Various resources from the SAKI Toolkit, including webinars, documents and other state examples of their victim notification protocols. 2) Schedule meetings with Wisconsin and Minnesota to discuss the development and implementation of their victim notification protocols. 3) Schedule virtual site visit with Amy Durall. 4) Review their protocols before submitting to BJA for approval.
