CSG Justice Center staff conducted a combined site visit with the FY19 JMHCP Richmond Behavioral Health Authority, VA and FY21 Connect & Protect Richmond Behavioral Health Authority, VA. The site visit was conducted with FY19 grantee to learn onsite about all aspects of the CCBHD including observing the docket and Pre-Docket meeting and touring Richmond Behavioral Health Authority and the Richmond Justice Center (RCJ).

During this site visit, the CSG Justice Center collaborated with Tribal Law and Policy Institute (contracted by OJJDP) to provide a discussion based training on day 1 for the grantee team to learn about juvenile healing to wellness courts and important cultural and partnership elements to support tribal sovereignty and strong state/tribal partnerships for long-term sustainability. The second day of the site visit included a tour of the Circle Back Center which serves youth in White Earth Nation that struggle with substance use and mental health needs.

The CSG Justice Center scheduled office hours as a follow-up to the webinar on "Using Local Innovations to Address Racial Disparities in Behavioral Health and Criminal Justice Programs" hosted by NLC and CSG on September 20, 2022. Description: Join NLC, resource experts, and city leaders to discuss strategies to implement and sustain community-based responses to safety through equitable planning and implementation. Topics will include: building infrastructure, staff training, community engagement and capacity building, alternative responses that promote equity and much more!

The CSG Justice Center scheduled office hours as a follow-up to the webinar on "Using Local Innovations to Address Racial Disparities in Behavioral Health and Criminal Justice Programs" hosted by NLC and CSG on September 20, 2022. Description: Join NLC, city leaders, and advocates with lived experiences to discuss strategies to authentically engage and include impacted voices in your local work to reimagine health and safety. Topics will include: community engagement, credible messengers, hiring practices, professional development, and much more!

The Henu' Community Wellness Court JMHCP grant team invited the TA coach and Project Manager to visit with them and attend the annual Alaska Federation of Natives Convention in Anchorage, AK from 10/20/22-10/22/22. On 10/21/22 the grant team met with the TA coach and project manager to discuss the project's sustainability post-grant closeout and discuss the overall closeout process.

The CSG Justice Center held a virtual grantee convening for all FY20 and FY21 JMHCP grantee teams on 9/14/22. The convening allowed grantees to participate in peer learning sessions as well as topical presentations. Grantees heard from BJA leadership and then participated in a series of topical presentations and smaller breakout sessions that facilitated peer to peer learning and discussion with other grantees.

Over this reporting period, NDCRC co-directors were invited to speak at two events which required them to travel in person. Dr. DeVall traveled to Biloxi, Mississippi on August 24-26 for their treatment court state conference and gave two presentations on data collection and grant writing. On October 2-5, Dr. DeVall and Dr. Lanier traveled to New York to introduce the NDCRC at the CJI Statewide Coordinators meeting.

Over this reporting period, NDCRC co-directors were invited to speak at numerous events. At the Delaware treatment court coordinators meeting on September 16, Dr. Lanier and Dr. DeVall virtually presented the 2019 Painting the Current Picture findings for Delaware. At the Missouri treatment court coordinators meeting on September 8, they virtually presented a grant writing workshop.

NDCRC staff fielded inquiries related to research and practice in the field as well as NDCRC updates. These questions were received primarily via the NDCRC email, individual staff emails, and the contact page of the NDCRC website. Between July 1 and December 31, 2022, staff addressed via email approximately 2,000 questions about the NDCRC, treatment courts, or other resources.
