Recruitment meeting with Bradley Bragg (Captain) of the Lewis and Clark County Jail in Montana where we presented the initiative, and he opted in.Â
Onboarding session with Bri Lake (Program Analyst) from the Lewis and Clark County Department of Criminal Justice Services in Montana where she configured population, admissions, and readmissions metrics on behalf of the Lewis and Clark County Jail. We also walked her through the data entry process, and she entered up to a yearâs worth of monthly data.Â
Meeting with Janice Fries (Research Analytics and Planning Bureau Chief) from the Montana Department of Corrections where she showed us their current public data and we agreed to begin the onboarding process with population data.Â
o  Presented at the National Legal Aide and Defense Association conference to 15 Public Defenders across the country to introduce them to Justice Counts and encourage them to opt in.
Meeting with Montana Senator Ryan Lynch, a champion of Justice Counts, to provide an update and overview of the project’s progress in Indiana.
Recruitment meeting with Kirsten Pabst (Missoula County Attorney) and Brian West (Deputy County Attorney) from the Missoula County Attorneyâs Office in Montana to present the initiative and encourage participation.Â
Recruitment meeting with Quinn Ziegler (Data Analyst) from the Missoula County Community Justice Department Data Center in Montana to learn more about his role in connection to the community and to the local criminal justice coordinating council.Â
Recruitment meeting with Brett Schandelson (State Public Defender) and Kyle Belcher (Operations Specialist) from the Montana Office of the Public Defender. They opted in and provided updates on their progress implementing HB-11 and identifying similarities between the bill and this initiative.
Justice Counts webinar with the National District Attorneyâs Association to provide a project overview to members and encourage them to opt in.Â
