The goal of the roundtable is to identify collaborative efforts that can help reduce violent crime and improve the capacity of prosecutors and law enforcement to hold offenders accountable. Attendees will also identify the steps necessary to replicate these efforts and discuss strategies to measure and evaluate their effectiveness. It is anticipated that the roundtable will include representatives from approximately twelve jurisdictions from across the nation.

This meeting will bring together state prosecution association executive directors and corresponding practicing prosecutors to identify and discuss field-based issues, trends, and best practices that affect the prosecution community.

In collaboration with the Justice Programs Office at American University and in furtherance of the goals of the BJA-led Right to Counsel National Campaign, NACDL will help further the goals of the R2C initiative by creating at least one short video to highlight the importance of the right to counsel. A presentation consisting of multiple videos discussing the importance of the right to counsel was played at the R2C 3rd Annual Meeting.

Center staff organized and hosted a structured site visit for 4 visitors from the Living Cities organization. The site visit included meeting with the judge and key players and talking with on-site social service providers.

Center staff organized and hosted a structured site visit to the Red Hook Community Justice Center for 20 visitors from Staten Island including the Staten Island Borough President, James Oddo and Staten Island District Attorney, Michael McMahon. The site visit included court observation, meeting with the judge and other key players, and talking with on-site social service providers.
