This was inadvertently entered into NTTAC twice. Therefore this entry has been marked as canceled. This was originally a TTA request of the Oglala Sioux Tribe. While some members of Oglala Sioux did attend this training, NCJTC opened up registration to additional tribes as there was space remaining in the class.

Review current issues with prescription pain pills, counterfeit pills, and fentanyl. Explore the benefits of Naloxone/Narcan as a lifesaving measure.
The opioid crisis and the flood of other drugs has reached epidemic proportion in many of our tribal communities across the nation. According to the 2018 National Survey on Drug Use and Health Tables, twice as many American Indians and Alaska Natives require treatment for addiction compared to any other racial and ethnic group.

Recurring project management activities continued during the last 6 months of 2020, including oversight and administration, and reviewing and approving monthly invoices of subcontractors such as Tetra Ventures, Tom Carlson Consulting, and Richard Gold legal services. Regular updates were prepared including periodic connection maps, PowerPoint status reports, and Excel spreadsheets and distributed to representatives from TTAC, CDC, and BJA. Monthly progress reports were also prepared and provided to IIR.
The TTAC team has developed working relationships with many key federal partners representing public health and public safety communities and collaborates regularly with numerous national organizations. During this reporting period, the TTAC staff supported the following national and federal partners:
During the reporting period, the TTAC team participated in biweekly conference calls with BJA leaders to discuss current PDMP projects and activities. Weekly written status reports on PDMP TTAC deliverables and activities were also provided to BJA.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, an in-person meeting of TTA providers has not yet been scheduled; however, the TTAC staff will participate when the meeting is held.
