LISC met with new program coordinator and core management team to review grant efforts and to discuss next steps and will be attending the mid-grant review meeting taking place on 7/22/19. LISC was able to meet new program coordinator and the new community police officer and visit both hot spot locations. Savanna Landing completed perimeter fencing and has secured gate in place. Inside residents indicate a greater sense of safety versus previous years. At the Kwick Stop there was a noticeable environmental change as a result of the nuisance property ordinance.

The Bureau of Justice Assistanc requested assistance through BJA NTTAC to provide training and technical assistance to the two cities who will be hosting the Democratic and Republican National Conventions in 2020: Charlotte, NC and Milwaukee, WI. Kevin Preslan was selected to facilitate the assistance and conducted a two-and-half day onsite visit with the agency in January 2018. Kevin Preslan will be developing a report with recommendations specific to training on best practices/lessons learned from previous conventions on a variety of grant administration and audit topics as needed.
