Matt Perkins and James Stark, collaborating with IACP, attended the national convening for FY2019 CBCR grantees in St. Louis, MO. Perkins moderated panels with the 1) St. Louis County and East St. Louis CBCR sites on Lessons Learned from the CBCR Planning Phase and 2) the City of St. Louis CBCR site on CBCR Implementation Phase Course Corrections. Perkins and Stark presented as part of a panel on Best Practices in Sustainability.

Matt Perkins of LISC, along with Capt. Henry Remolina of the Providence (RI) Police Department and Dr. Alejandro Gimenez-Santana of Rutgers University presented on collaborative crime reduction partnerships, including CBCR at the Community and Regional Development Institute (CaRDI) of Cornell University. CaRDI was host to a conference on Zombie Houses sponsored by the NY State Attorney General’s Office and attended by municipal officials and community partners from throughout NY State.

Matt Perkins of LISC, along with Mr. Tom Wyatt of Connected by Design, and Captain Jason Simon of the Youngstown (OH) Police Department presented at the 2019 National Public Safety Partnership (PSP) Symposium in Memphis Tennessee. The topic of the session was Proactive Problem Solving with Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design. The presentation was made in 2 sessions, the first for attendees and partners with the Tulsa PSP grant and the second to a consortium of local law enforcement agencies from the greater Memphis area.

On Tuesday November 5, in conjunction with the FY19 CBCR national site convening, held in St. Louis, Matt Perkins and James Stark, joined by Betsi Griffith from BJA, visited the East St. Louis CBCR site for a tour and meeting with site coordinator, Jessica Fort.

In conjunction with the FY19 CBCR national site convening, held in St. Louis, Matt Perkins and James Stark, visited the St. Louis County CBCR site for meetings with St. Louis County PD grant administrative staff, St. Louis County PD district-based community service officers, site coordinator Jessica Fort and resident partners, as well as a site tour.
