Center staff hosted an in-person site visit for Ruby Qazilbash, Deputy Director of Policy & Cornelia Sigworth, Associate Deputy Director at the Bureau of Justice Assistance. The site visit included meeting a an over of the Center, a site tour, and various discussions.

In-depth TTA. Working with the Victim-Witness Outreach Office of the County Attorney’s Office, this project will focus on identifying barriers for low-income victims and witnesses, especially those in more rural parts of the county to participate in the court system. This will include examining gaps in resources and language related barriers for the region’s refugee population and helping to develop tools and resources to improve access. This project is being led by APA and just launched in January 2023.

Center staff organized and hosted a in-person site visit to Newark Community Solutions (NCS) for two individuals from the Paterson Law Department. The site visit, hosted by Kelly Mulligan-Brown, the Director of New Jersey Programs, included an observation of the community court process in preparation for a potential assessment contract for a community justice initiative assessment in Paterson.

Center staff organized and hosted an in-person site visit to Midtown Community Court (MCC) for 9 stakeholders from the Downtown Austin Community Court. The site visit included meeting a site tour, discussions, and overviews of the court's programs, including Community First.
