Monthly meeting for CIU or IO staff members; topic was the successful collaboration between the Michigan Innocence Clinic and the Michigan Attorney General's Office that resulted in the exoneration of Jeffrey Titus.
A review of all existing program documents will transpire to include VTC procedure manuals, participant handbook, mentor manual, BeST Assessment (as applicable), Hopes and Concerns assessment tool, and relevant past/present grant information. A discussion of all documentation with the designated Justice for Vets (JFV) staff member (JFV Leader) in advance of formal involvement with the VTC team members will occur.

Meeting with data experts to discuss how CIUs and Innocence Organizations should collect data and how to analyze that data to improve case selection, investigations, and inform policy decisions

Three day training in non-coercive interviewing techniques using scientifically-supported techniques. This training is geared to both prosecutors and defense counsel engaged in post-conviction investigations of alleged wrongful convictions.
Provide ongoing assistance and support to grantees under the Upholding the Rule of Law & Preventing Wrongful Convictions program through direct consultations and feedback, as well as connecting grantees to each other for more general and global assistance. During this period, we met regularly with Innocence Delaware, CPCS, Boston College Innocence Program, Arizona Justice Project, Great North Innocence Project and Minnesota Attorney General's Office, Midwest Innocence Project, California Innocence Project, Georgia Innocence Project and the Fulton County DAO.
