MCC hosted a site visit for Senator Liz Kreuger’s office to learn more about the youth weapons diversion and do a court observation
MCC coordinated and hosted a site visit for the Airway Heights community court, which included the following members: Judge Gerl, Community Court Judge; Luisa Constanza, Community Court Coordinator; Zach Myers, Public Defender; Susan Six, Prosecution Paralegal; Officer Adam Johnson, Community Resource Officer. The team learned about Midtown's programming and observed court.
MCC hosted a site visit for 4 people for an Emerging Adult court observation and discussion, as well as a community first walk to times square
MCC hosted 3 individuals from the New York City Council’s Finance department to learn about alternatives to incarceration programming, specialty mental health and emerging adult courts, diversion initiatives, and community first.
MCC hosted one person from the department of Youth and Community Development to observe fatherhood classes and thinking for a change curriculum; and review files, case notes, and administrative items
MCC hosted 2 individuals from the Brennan Center for Justice to observe court and learn about various programs and services, including project reset, community first, clinical services, and alternatives to incarceration
Midtown Community Court hosted 1 individual from the New Yorker to meet w/ Community First, observe Misdemeanor Mental Health Court, and visit the Recharge Station
Presentation at the NOBLE Conference: Pathways to Community: Implementing first responder-led deflection initiatives to address racial equity in Illinois
Monthly meeting for CIU or IO staff members; topic was about Fingerprinting collection and analysis.
