After a direct referral from the PMO, the PRC engaged in one remediation case. The case involved an auditor who needed additional support in auditing standards 115.21, 115.53, 115.401(j), and 115.401(o). The remediation plan included education components, testing, and engagement with the PRC to put the remediation work into practice. The auditor completed all components of the remediation work on May 13, 2020.

Disciplinary review is initiated by PMO when they identify significant issues with an auditor's work and/or practice.
Disciplinary processes include PRC staff supporting PMO's direct requests with detailed analysis of an auditor's work on multiple audits, including a review of all retained documentation for the reviewed audits and providing detailed memoranda tp PMO regarding findings in those audits.

During this period, four peer reviewers were assigned to review two audits (two reviewers per audit). The audits were selected for peer review by the PMO. The auditors were notified of their selection and given thirty days to upload documentation in support of their audit findings for standards 115.33. 115.41, 115.42, and 115.53. The peer reviewers completed a conflict of interest assessment and signed confidentiality agreements prior to receiving access to their assigned peer review audit.

Provide extensive training for Peer Mentors on how to support auditors who are referred to Remediation Program operated by the Audit Oversight team. Offered a subsequent intensive scenario-based training to guide Peer Mentors on how to respond to likely questions and concerns from auditors and support their needs during the 6-month Remediation Program.

PRC contracts with Message Agency to Message Agency support the administration of the PRC Website and the connected Portal outside of larger and narrower website builds.

Over this reporting period, we are working on numerous configurations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our central Salesforce database and other integrated applications.

Operated the auditor certification process for auditors who completed their Field Training Programs during the reporting period and who signed their auditor certification agreements. This includes communicating with them about deadlines, the responsibilities of a probationary auditor, and the requirements that must be met to become fully certified. Upon completion of the necessary steps, we also updated our public auditor directory to display the newly certified auditors names and basic information about them.

The PRC is contracting with Message Agency to expand transparency in the audit process by displaying audit information on the PRC website. This directory will display basic audit information, like the auditor facility, onsite audit dats, and the auditor, as well as the final audit report upon completion, for any audits initiated on or after the effective audit assignment date. In addition to accessing this information, users will be able to filter results by an assortment of categories and keywords, export results in csv format, and download final audit reports.

The auditor feedback form is comprised of complaints submitted to the PRC from various sources of information pertaining to PREA audits. I.E Victim advocates, corrections staff, PREA Coordinators etc. These complaints are reviewed regularly by the PRC, and BJA. Certain complaints are referred to PMO for a more in depth review depending upon the nature of the complaint.

Subject matter experts on PRC staff operate an auditor helpdesk designated for PREA auditors to ask questions about an audit, the audit process, the continuing education learning management system, or standards interpretation. Each PRC staff person who contributes is responsible for responding to queries on one or more days per week.
The PRC closed 78 helpline cases between July - December 2022.
