We met with all 18 FY 2023 grantees in this quarter of the program. These were all oriented towards development of these new grantees' action plans.
In June 2024, the TA Center met with 67 carryover grantees (one of them twice).
In March 2024 there were 58 warm handoff meetings and three warm handoffs via email as part of the transition from the previous TTA provider.
In addition, there were follow up meetings with 8 grantees that had had handoff calls during February.
Discuss the challenges being faced by tribal communities when it comes to successful reentry and reintegration post-treatment and post-incarceration such as economic disparities, poverty, unemployment, and limited access to essential resources. Explore how geographic isolation affects access to services and opportunities. Examine initial strategies to overcome these barriers, including ways to leverage community-based services that engage tribal leaders, elders and communities in support of culturally relevant responses and programs.
In February 2024 the TAC participated in 20 warm handoff calls with grantees as part of the transfer from the previous TTA provider.
During this reporting period, TLPI had one internal email regarding TTA. Contact for tribe on the TTA is on vacation. TLPI will follow up with them in a few weeks to check in on status of project.
During this reporting period, TLPI staff from this project, Judge Korey Wahwassuck, Consultant, and Terry Janis, Director, Niibi Center Institute for the Rights of Nature communicated regarding the presentation at the upcoming Conference for White Earth in June 2024, regarding implementation of traditional law into their judicial system and other governmental operations. Approximately 14 emails were exchanged, one video conference call was held, and several resources were shared, including past and upcoming webinars on peacemaking and restorative justice.
